My Favorite Business-Building Resource

Hey, It’s Bob.

This blog post is inspired by Benjamin Franklin who said, “An investment in education returns the best interest.”

What prompted this is I regularly blog for the 'Aftermarketer Club', which is for people who are in the automotive business.  They sent me a request for a blog post about “What’s your best business-building resource?”

I started to think about it and I realized that it was my car.  My car – why?  Because I don’t have the time, or I don’t make the time, to watch long videos to digest a lot of information.  Don't get me wrong, I hope you’re watching my video or reading my blog and you’re digesting this information.  I do make time for books; I read books and I watch short videos.

But you know where I can always get a great little piece of information... where I can even go through long stretches of information?  In my car.  I’ve almost always have a business-building or a personal development CD in my car.  It’s my rolling living room – I mean, it’s my rolling university.  And it’s a perfect opportunity for you to get great information too.

If you want to get great information while you're in your car, I’d recommend a couple of resources just off the top of my head.  Certainly, I would recommend the Retail Mastery System.  I had someone come up to me at a program once and she said, “Bob, I listened to the entire Retail Mastery System, all the discs, in my car.”  And I said, “Okay, great.”  And he says,” But you don’t understand, – I live six minutes from my store!”  So he listened to the entire Retail Mastery System in six-minute increments.

So of course I recommend the Retail Mastery System, but if you do outside sales, Jeffery Gitomer also has wonderful, wonderful stuff.

If you’re looking for self-improvement, Tony Robbins is the master.  Or Brian Tracy.  I love 'The Strangest Secret' by Earl Nightingale. That disc is a classic all these years later.  It was the beginning of the self-development, the self-improvement industry.  So you see what I’m saying?  Turn off the country, turn off the rock-n-roll, turn off the NPR, feed your mind with information that you can use to become a better person and a better business person.  Use that opportunity.  Use that opportunity well and you’ll be rewarded for it.

Let me know how you feel about what I just said.  Let us know your favorite books on tapes, business building resources, personal development resources.

Put it in the comments below; I’d love to hear what you’re using to make your life and business better.

I’d like to use it myself.

Thanks.
